sight of minarets and churches side by side, the contrast
between oriental and modern sky-high buildings, and the
ravishing river Nile cutting through all this. Cairo is

The pyramids of Giza , one of the
greatest seven wonders of the world . All three pyramids
were built during the Fourth Dynasty, and were monumental
undertakings of the king and the kings sons. It ranked as
the tallest structure on Earth for more than 43 centuries,
only to be surpassed in height in the nineteenth century
AD. It is really a dream of everyone to visit from his childhood.
The three Pyramids, consist of The Great Pyramid of Cheops,
Chephren and The Mecrenious Each Pyramid is a tomb to a
different King of Egypt built by the pharaohs for their
great king, The mystery of the pyramids is always tried
to discover by scientists but it will never be revealed
as its secret is hidden within its walls.
The Sphinx “ the guard of the three pyramids “ which lies
on their feet is one of the best known monuments of Ancient
Egyptian Architecture. Unusual to the form of most Egyptian
pyramid structures, featuring the mask of human being &
the body of a lion, it stands as a symbol of the wisdom
of the king as well as his strength & power.
From the panorama area ,you might enjoy a perfect view of
the three great pyramids and you can take a camel ride on
the spirit of the Pyramids for a while.

The
greatest collection of Egyptian antiquities is, without
doubt, that of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It is located
in El- Tahrir Square, it is the Greatest Egyptian archeological
museum in the world, Containing about 250 000 piece of art
that dated as far back as the 5000 years of Egypt’s History
. The exhibits have an historical value as well as an artistic
value. One of the most important display is the fabulous
treasures of Tut Ank Amoun specially the solid golden masque
& the golden coffin. |

is the first capital of Egypt , Land of God Petah , God
of art , The Greatness of art appears in the ruins of Memphis
with its small open air museum containing a splendid statue
of Ramses II made of crystallized limestone that once stood
at the entrance to the temple of Ptah .
Saqqara, known as the “City of the Dead,” is located west
of the Nile River near the point where the river splits
and flows to the Mediterranean Sea. It contains the first
large building in Egypt . The area encompasses a large number
of tombs, where fine paintings reveal life and customs of
the early dynastic period. |

Egypt
as an Islamic country implied 30% of its citizen as Christian
citizens, It is rich with a lot of Christian arts , among
these holy places is the so called Hanging church which
is built on the pillars of the Roman fort of Babylon . It
dates from the late 4th and early 5th century A.D. as indicated
on a carved wooden screen that represents Jesus, entering
Jerusalem victorious. The church has a wonderful collection
of icons. While the Coptic Museum which is located in Old
Cairo among mosques , it houses rare collections of relics,
textiles and manuscripts dating back to early Christian
times. Exhibits at the museum reflect the beauty of ancient
Coptic art with its colors and decorations, which is considered
a transitional period from ancient pharaonic to Islamic

| Citadel

the Mokattam hills stands Salah el Din Citadel which calls
to mind its great founder Salah el Din el Ayouby which may
be seen from any place in Cairo . It was built to defend
Cairo against attacks with its hard fortress & large
walls in order to protect it from invaders , it is not only
the great building in this site but there are also the impressive
Mohamed Ali mosque with its large minarets it is also called
the ” Alabaster Mosque , it is one of Cairo’s landmarks.
The area also includes the military museum which exhibits
a lot of Egyptian police movements along history. |

the most impressive among oriental bazaars and one of the
oldest as it dates from the 14th Century A.D. It comprises

and silver jewelry, copper and wooden hand-made wares inlaid
with pearls, textiles as well as oriental needle-work of
great beauty that one may buy as gifts & when you feel
tired , you can take your breath in one of Coffee Shops
